Oaktree Cottage Tebay

Oaktree Cottage is one of five cottages here at Brockholes Farm. It's a converted farm building, so the walls are thick and the rooms feel solid. It's detached, so you're on your own, but the other cottages are nearby if a big group books them all.

It sleeps five. Three bedrooms upstairs, two bathrooms. One's an ensuite with a shower, the other is the main bathroom with a bath. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well looked after. The stairs are a typical farmhouse conversion staircase. They're fine, but they turn a corner and are a bit steeper at the top.

Downstairs is open plan. Kitchen, dining area, and the living room are all together. The main point is the view. The big windows look straight out over the River Lune and the valley. You get a private patio out there to sit and look at it.

The farm is just off the M6, about two miles from Tebay. You'll hear a bit of motorway hum in the distance sometimes, but it's not bad. The benefit is you can get here easily, and get out to everything else easily.

You're right on the edge of three big areas. The Yorkshire Dales National Park is to the east, the Lake District National Park is to the west, and the North Pennines AONB is to the north. Kirkby Stephen is about ten minutes away for shops and pubs. Kendal is about twenty minutes.

On site, there's a kids' play area that all the cottages share. You're welcome to walk on the farm land down to the river. There's fishing available on the river if you arrange it beforehand.

For facilities, it's got what you'd expect. WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
