Oaktree Cottage is here on Brockholes Farm. It's one of five cottages made from old farm buildings. The place is good for families. Sleeps five in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which helps.
It's a 4 Star place. That means it's comfortable and well looked after, but not palatial. The stairs are normal house stairs, not too steep.
You're right on the River Lune here. The view from your private seating area is over the river and down the valley. It's quiet. You can walk on the farm's own land and there's fishing if you're into that. There's a shared play area for kids, which is handy.
Location wise, it's two miles from Tebay, so you're near the M6 for getting about, but it feels properly rural. You're sat between three big areas: the North Pennines, the Yorkshire Dales, and the Lake District. All are within a half hour drive, depending on which bit you're aiming for.
Kirkby Stephen is the nearest proper town. It's got a few shops and places to eat. Kendal is about ten miles south, that's your bigger shopping town and the gateway to the southern Lakes. Windermere, Ambleside, those places are easily doable from here.
For facilities, it's got what you'd need: parking, WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We allow up to two dogs. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
