River View Cottage

River View Cottage is one of the cottages at Brockholes Farm, just outside Tebay. It's detached, and it's all on one level. You get your own bit of garden out the front, with a table and chairs. It looks right out over the River Lune and up the valley. The view is the main thing.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. The bathroom has a walk-in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well looked after, not old-fashioned but it was a farm building so the walls are thick and the windows are deep.

You can walk straight from the door onto the farm's land, down to the river. There's fishing if you arrange it with the owner. There's also a shared play area with a climbing frame for kids, over by the other cottages.

Tebay is about two miles away. The motorway services there are famous, but the village itself has a shop. Kirkby Stephen is about ten minutes drive east. It's a proper little market town with cafes and butchers and a co-op. For a bigger shop, Kendal is about twenty minutes south.

You're right in the middle of everything here. The M6 is close, but you don't really hear it. You can see the Howgill Fills from the garden. They're not in a National Park but they might as well be. The Yorkshire Dales National Park is about fifteen minutes east. The Lake District National Park is about twenty minutes west. The North Pennines AONB is to the north. So you can choose your scenery each day.

For a day out, you can be in Windermere or Ambleside in under forty minutes. Or you can go the other way to places like Sedbergh in the Dales. We get a lot of walkers and cyclists.

Facilities: there's parking right outside. WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.
