Combe Cottage is at Brockholes Farm, just outside Tebay. It's up the hill from the farmyard, so you look down over the river valley. It's the biggest one here, sleeps eight.
It's got four bedrooms, all on the ground floor. Two of them have their own ensuite shower rooms. There's a third bathroom as well. Upstairs is just the living space. It's one big room with a kitchen at one end and sofas at the other. The doors open onto a Juliet balcony, so you get the full view.
The place is a 4 Star. It's been done up from an old farm building. They've kept the stone walls and beams. It's comfortable, not precious. You get your own patio with a table and chairs.
Outside, there's a shared kids' play area. You're allowed to walk across the owner's fields down to the River Lune. Fishing might be possible, but you'd need to ask the owner about that directly.
Location-wise, you're right on the edge of three big areas. The Howgill Fells are basically in the back garden. The Yorkshire Dales National Park is to the east, and the Lake District National Park is to the west. You can be in Kendal in about 20 minutes. Kirkby Stephen is closer, maybe 15 minutes. It's a proper market town with shops and pubs.
If you're coming up the M6, the Tebay services are famous. They're a proper farm shop, not your usual motorway stop. It's two miles from here.
Facilities: everything you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs. Parking is right outside.
