Apartment 3
Apartment 3 is in Shaw End Mansion, near Patton Bridge outside Kendal. It's one of four apartments in a big old Georgian house. You get the whole apartment to yourselves.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. The furnishings are good quality, it's comfortable and clean. The stairs up to the apartment are the main house stairs, so they're grand but they are quite wide and open.
The apartment is on the first floor. High ceilings, big windows. You look out over farmland and the river. There's an open fire in the living room. The kitchen has a dishwasher. There's a shared utility room on the ground floor with a washing machine and a freezer you can use.
The house sits in about 200 acres. You're welcome to walk around the land, through the woods and by the river. Part of it is a working farm. If the owners are around, you can often go and see the lambs. There's fishing on the river during the season if you have a licence.
Kendal is about ten minutes' drive. It's a proper market town with shops, pubs, and a leisure centre. Windermere is about half an hour away. The Yorkshire Dales National Park is about fifteen minutes in the other direction.
For planning, the main websites are Lake District National Park and Yorkshire Dales National Park. Kendal is between them.
Facilities: everything on the list is there. Wifi, TV, parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets.
