Butterfly Cottage is in Selside, near Kendal. It's part of a small estate called Low Jock Scar, right next to the Bannisdale Beck. You can hear the stream from the garden.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, which is handy. It's a 4 Star property, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The main bedroom and one of the bathrooms are on the ground floor.
The cottage has its own enclosed patio area. You also have several acres of shared gardens and woodland to walk through. We get woodpeckers, deer, and hares around the place.
It's very quiet here. The only real noise is the water. Kendal is about five miles away for shops and pubs. The nearest one you can walk to is about five miles, so you'll need to drive.
For walking, you're right on the edge of the Lakes and the Dales. The Howgills and the Yorkshire Dales are to the east, maybe a 25 minute drive to Sedbergh. Windermere is about half an hour west. Ullswater is a bit further, maybe 45 minutes.
In the cottage there's a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. Sorry, no pets.
