Staveley Park is a detached cottage on the edge of Staveley village. It sits by itself with its own garden. The views are good, mostly over trees and fields towards the fells.
It sleeps eight people. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms have their own bathrooms. The master bedroom has a four-poster bed, which is nice but just mind your head. The stairs are normal for an old house. It's a 5 Star property, which means it's been done to a high standard.
The garden is fully enclosed by a stone wall and hedges. There are three farm gates you can shut, so it's secure for dogs or children. There's a terrace with furniture, good for sitting out when the sun's on it.
Staveley village is about a five-minute walk. It's a proper working village. You've got a shop, a butcher, a baker, and a couple of pubs that do food. The Hawkshead Brewery is there if you like that sort of thing. The railway station is in the village too, which is handy.
For getting out, you're about four miles from Kendal and three and a half from Windermere and Bowness. Bowness is busy with tourists, but it's where you get the steamers on the lake. There are lots of walks you can start from the door, or you can drive into the fells quite quickly.
Inside, there are two living rooms, both with wood burners. The kitchen has what you need, and there's a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Bedding and towels are included. We allow up to two dogs.
