Slate Cottage

Slate Cottage is in Windermere village. It's a terraced cottage, right next to the pub. You can walk to everything in the village in a few minutes.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating. The living space is open plan with a wood burner. The windows are triple glazed, which helps with noise from the street. The stairs are a typical cottage staircase.

There's a small decked patio out the back, it's enclosed. You can sit out there. Parking is on site for one car.

For facilities, it has the usual: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but the bathroom is upstairs and the stairs are cottage stairs, so you'd need to check if that works for you.

The pub is literally next door. The shop is about 100 yards away. Windermere itself has cafes, restaurants, and a good supermarket.

You're right in the middle of the Lake District. Lake Windermere is about a 15 minute walk. For walking, you can pick up paths straight from the door. Lake District National Park has all the official information for trails and conditions.

Within half an hour's drive you've got Ambleside, Grasmere, and the start of the Kirkstone Pass. Ullswater is about 40 minutes if the traffic is light. For historic houses, Wray Castle is on the lake and isn't too far.

One dog is welcome.
