Highwood Cottage

Highwood Cottage is in Ambleside. It's a detached stone building that used to be a coach house. It's for two people.

The front door opens right into the main room, which has the kitchen, dining area, and a sofa. There are French doors out to the back garden. The garden is enclosed and looks out over fields towards Lake Windermere. You can see the water from there.

Inside, it's all on one level. The bedroom has a double bed. The bathroom has a walk-in shower. It has a 4 Star rating.

It's about a ten minute walk into Ambleside town centre. There are shops, pubs, and places to eat. You can walk to the pier at Waterhead from there to get the ferry across the lake.

For walks, you can head up to Stock Ghyll Force waterfall from town, or go to the National Trust's Stagshaw Gardens. The cottage itself is on a quiet lane, so you can just step out the door.

Facilities: there's a dishwasher, a washing machine, WiFi, and parking right outside. The bedding and towels are included. It's wheelchair accessible at the entrance.
