Gilbert Scar Foot is in Ambleside. It's a four bedroom house that sleeps eight. It has four bathrooms too, one for each bedroom, which is handy with a group.
The living area is open plan, kitchen, dining and sitting room all together. It's a good space for everyone to be in at the end of the day. The kitchen has what you need.
It's all on three floors. The stairs are normal house stairs, nothing too steep. Two bedrooms are on the first floor, two more are on the second floor. The master bedroom up there has a bath with a shower attachment.
You're about five minutes walk from the centre of Ambleside. It's got plenty of pubs, restaurants, and shops. There are two small cinemas, which is unusual.
For the lake, Waterhead Pier is the place. You can get ferries from there to Bowness or Lakeside. You can also hire boats. Lake District National Park has all the official information for things like that.
Walking from the house, you can get to Stock Ghyll Force waterfall. It's a good short walk. The National Trust property, Stagshaw Garden, is also close by.
If you want to drive out, you've got the whole Lakes around you. Things like the Beatrix Potter place or the Motor Museum are within half an hour.
The house has a garden and parking for one car on the drive. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's well-equipped, with things like a dishwasher and washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's also a cot and highchair if you need them.
The entrance and ground floor are wheelchair accessible, but the bedrooms are all upstairs so it's not suitable for full wheelchair use.
