This is Hillside. It's in Ambleside, in a quiet bit off the main street. It's an end-of-terrace cottage and it's quite old, 18th century I think. You get good views from the windows, especially out the front.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom. The rating is 3 Star, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxurious. The living area is open plan downstairs, with stone floors and beams. The stairs are fairly typical for a cottage, so they're a bit steep and narrow.
There's a south-facing garden. It gets the sun. You can walk into Ambleside for shops and pubs in about ten minutes. The nearest ones are about half a mile.
For walking, you can start right from the door. For the lake, Waterhead Pier is about a twenty minute walk down the hill, where you can get on the boats. A lot of people use it as a base for the fells.
Facilities: There's parking for one car on site. WiFi, TV, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. Sorry, no pets.
