Garburn View
Garburn View is in Kentmere, which is up a valley away from the main roads. It's a solid stone cottage, one of two next to our house. The view from the front looks right down the valley. You can see the fells changing colour with the weather.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean, not a show home. The water pressure is fine, but you're in the hills, so it's not a power shower.
You're really here for the walking. The door opens onto footpaths. You can do a gentle loop around the valley or go straight up onto the high fells. The Kentmere Horseshoe starts from here. It's a proper full day out for experienced walkers.
For shops and a pub, you need to go to Staveley. It's about a ten minute drive. They've got a co-op, a couple of good pubs, and a bakery. Windermere and Ambleside are about a twenty minute drive if you need more.
Inside, it's got a wood burning stove, which is good for evenings. There's Wi-Fi, but it's satellite, so it's not for streaming films. There's parking right outside. We provide all the bedding. A cot and highchair are here if you need them. No pets, sorry.
