Garburn View is in Kentmere. That's the valley north of Staveley, about four miles west of Kendal. It's one of two cottages next to our house.
The cottage looks out over the Kentmere Valley. The view is pretty good, just fields and fells. It's quiet up here. You get a proper sense of being away from things.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxury. The heating works well and there's a woodburning stove if you fancy it.
You'll need a car. The nearest shop and pub are in Staveley, about four miles down the road. They're good. Staveley has a few shops, cafes, and a couple of pubs that do food. The Eagle and Child is the one by the river.
If you're walking, you can start from the door. There are paths all through the valley. For a bigger day, the Kentmere Horseshoe is right here. It's a classic round. For a drive, Haweswater is about twenty minutes. Ullswater and Windermere are within half an hour.
Facilities are what you'd expect. There's parking, WiFi, a TV. We include bedding. A cot and highchair are here if you need them.
