Waingap

Waingap is near Crook, on the southern side of the Lakes. It's a detached house, so no neighbours attached, and it sits in its own bit of land. The main thing is the view. You look straight out over the fields towards Morecambe Bay.

It sleeps seven. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms, which helps with a bigger group. It's got a 3 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and clean, but it's not a boutique hotel. It works well for families or a few friends.

You can walk straight from the door. There are footpaths and lanes all around here, and you're right near the start of the Dales Way. For a drive, you can be down at Lake Windermere in about twenty minutes. Bowness and Windermere town are that way too. Kendal is about six miles off for supermarkets and things.

If you like historic houses, Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall are very close. Holker Hall is a bit further. Cartmel is famous for its priory and it's a nice village to wander round.

The high fells and the bigger lakes like Ullswater are a bit further, maybe a forty minute drive.

For facilities: there's a woodburning stove, WiFi, a washing machine, and bedding and towels are included. You can park right there. We take up to three dogs.
