Waingap

Waingap is in Crook, which is a hamlet just outside Kendal. It's a detached stone cottage, on its own in the middle of a field. The views from the front look out over the Kent estuary towards Morecambe Bay.

It sleeps seven. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms, which is useful. It has a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped but not luxurious.

The main thing is the location. You can walk straight out of the door onto footpaths and bridleways. The Dales Way is nearby. Kendal is about six miles away for supermarkets and shops.

You're in a good spot for getting around. Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall are within ten minutes by car. The coast at Grange-over-Sands is about fifteen minutes away. For the lakes, Windermere and Bowness are maybe twenty-five minutes’ drive. If you want to go further into the Lake District proper, like to Coniston or Ullswater, it'll take about forty minutes.

For facilities: there's a woodburning stove, WiFi, a washing machine, and all the bedding and towels are included. There's plenty of parking right outside. The garden is all yours. We take up to three dogs.

If you're planning trips, these sites are good for information: National Trust Lake District and Lake District National Park.
