Granton Lodge
Granton Lodge is a detached house in Storrs, just outside Bowness on Windermere. It's set back from the road, so it's quiet. You can see the lake from some of the upstairs windows.
It sleeps four, with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which is handy. It's a 4 Star property, so it's nice. The kitchen is modern and has a dishwasher. There's a washing machine too. The garden is enclosed.
Bowness centre is a short drive, maybe five minutes. There's a restaurant about 200 yards away. A pub is about a mile's walk. You can walk to the lake from the house.
For getting about, the Windermere ferry is close. That takes you over to Hawkshead and the western side of the lake. Ambleside is about a 15-minute drive. Grasmere is maybe 25 minutes.
It's good for walking straight from the door. You can also drive to many of the main fells within half an hour. For local information, Lake District National Park and the National Trust Lake District sites are useful.
The house has parking for one car on the drive. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
