Gardeners Cottage
Gardeners Cottage is in Near Sawrey, in the Lake District. It's a detached stone cottage in a small courtyard, sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
The living space is all open plan. The bed is in the same room as the sofa. There are three steps down to the kitchen area from the living space. The ceiling has Velux windows, so it's bright inside. The shower is a good size. Parking is right outside the front door.
There's an outhouse with a washing machine. It's shared with the holiday apartment next door, but you'll have your own time slot. The cottage is all on the ground floor and the entrance has no steps, which is useful.
You can take two dogs. There's a small patio garden area.
The village pub is about a five minute walk. It does food and has a fire. Hill Top, Beatrix Potter's old house, is in the village. You can walk to it. Hawkshead is two miles away for more shops and cafes.
You're near Esthwaite Water. Windermere is close. You can get the car ferry from near Hawkshead across to Bowness. The steamer boats go from Bowness to Ambleside and Lakeside. Grizedale Forest is about a ten minute drive for walking and cycling trails.
