Campbell Cottage is on the southern edge of Windermere village. It's an end-terrace stone cottage, so it's sturdy and a bit old-fashioned. You rent the whole place, and there's a private, walled patio out the back.
It sleeps four. There are three bedrooms, but one is in the cellar. That one has a low ceiling and a king-size bed. Upstairs, there's a main bedroom with a king-size bed and a second bedroom with twin beds. There's one bathroom, which has a shower over the bath.
The place is a 3 Star property. It's clean and comfortable. The stairs are a standard cottage staircase, so they're a bit steeper than you'd find in a modern house. There are two wood burners, one in the lounge and one in the dining room.
Windermere village is a five-minute walk. There are shops, cafes, and a few pubs there. If you walk for about twenty minutes, you’ll get to Bowness-on-Windermere, which is busier and right on the lake shore.
From Bowness, you can get on the lake. The Windermere Lake Cruises go to Ambleside and Lakeside. At Lakeside, you can visit the Lakes Aquarium or get the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway. For walking, you're on the edge of the fells. The National Trust has many local properties and walks.
The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking for one car on the driveway.
