Badgers Rake 12 Squirrels Nest

Badgers Rake 12 is called Squirrel's Nest. It's a second floor apartment in Ambleside. The views are very good, straight out over the village to the fells. You can see Loughrigg and the Fairfield Horseshoe.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's well looked after. One of the bedrooms has Italian furniture, which is just a bit different. The living room has a big picture window for the view. There are patio doors from the kitchen out to a glass-fronted balcony with a couple of chairs.

You're above the village, so it's a quiet spot, but you can walk down into Ambleside in a few minutes. All the shops and pubs and places to eat are right there. There's a large shared garden for the whole Badgers Rake building, with a barbecue area. You get an off-road parking space, which is useful in Ambleside.

The apartment has the basics: WiFi, a TV, a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.

For getting out, you're right in the middle of it. You can start walking straight from the door onto the fells. Windermere lake is about ten minutes drive. Keswick is roughly half an hour. Helvellyn is within that too if you're a serious walker. If you want historic houses, National Trust Lake District has the details for places like Wray Castle. The Lake District National Park site is good for practical walking information.
