Fellmere is a house just outside Ambleside. It's one of three houses that were converted from an old hotel. It was built in 1840, so the walls are thick and the ceilings are high.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. The furnishings are nice, a lot of Laura Ashley stuff. It's comfortable.
The main room is open plan. Kitchen at one end, living area in the middle, and then a big conservatory with the dining table. That's where you'll sit, because the view from there is the point. You look right out over the valley towards Wansfell Pike. You can see a slice of Windermere too.
Outside, there's a patio with furniture right by the house. Then the garden slopes down to a more sheltered bit we call the secret garden. It gets the sun in the afternoon.
You can walk into Ambleside. It's about fifteen, twenty minutes. There's a path from the end of the lane. The town has shops, pubs, a couple of cinemas. You can hire bikes there.
For walking, you can start right from the door. For bigger days, you're in a good spot. You can drive to Coniston, Ullswater, or up to Keswick, all within half an hour or so. The Windermere lake steamer piers are a short drive away.
It's got parking. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, all the normal things. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
