Roundhill Cottages 1
Roundhill Cottages 1 is about fifteen minutes walk outside Grasmere. It’s a slate cottage from around the 1880s. You get good views across the valley from the back. Yes, from the bathroom window too.
It sleeps five, in three bedrooms. One bathroom. It’s got a 3 Star rating, so it’s comfortable and clean. The living room has an open fire which is nice in the evening.
The village is a ten minute walk up the road. There’s a shop, and a couple of pubs that do food. You have to try the gingerbread shop, everyone does.
The cottage is right at the bottom of Helm Crag. You can walk straight out the door and be on the fells. Fairfield Horseshoe is nearby too for a bigger day out. Grasmere Lake is a gentle walk around if you don’t want to go up high. The Wordsworth Museum is in the village if you’re interested.
Facilities: there’s a dishwasher, washing machine, parking right outside, and WiFi. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a small garden at the back.
For planning walks, the Lake District National Park website is useful. Keswick is about twenty minutes by car, Ambleside about fifteen.
