Roundhill Cottages 1
This is Roundhill Cottages number 1. It's one of a pair of slate cottages just outside Grasmere village, built in the late 1800s. It sleeps five people in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom.
The location is its main thing. You're less than a mile from the centre of Grasmere, which is about a 15 minute walk. The cottage is right at the foot of some good walks, like Helm Crag and the Fairfield Horseshoe. You can leave the car and just go.
Grasmere has the usual village shops, a couple of pubs that serve food, and the famous gingerbread shop. It's a quiet place. The lake is an easy, flat walk around if you don't fancy going up.
The cottage has a 3 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean, but not luxurious. The rooms are a good size. There's an open fire in the living room, which is nice in the evening. The views from the cottage are decent, looking out over the fells. You can even see them from the roll-top bath, which is a bit different.
You can bring up to two dogs. There's a garden with a patio area. Parking is on site, right by the cottage. Inside there's a TV, WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. All the bedding is provided.
