You're a five minute walk from the edge of Grasmere lake. The walk around Rydal Water starts nearby too. For bigger walks, you're close to the central fells like Helm Crag. The poet Wordsworth is buried in the churchyard here if that's of interest.
If you want to explore further, Ambleside is ten minutes by car. Keswick is about half an hour. The whole of the Lake District is within easy reach.
