Long Mynd is a cottage in Ambleside. It's one of a group, converted from an old bobbin mill. The main thing is the setting: it's in about an acre and a half of grounds with Stockghyll Falls running right through. There's pretty steep, wooded banks and waterfalls all around. It's very green.
It sleeps six people in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which helps. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and modern inside.
You can walk into Ambleside village in about ten minutes. That's where the shops, pubs and restaurants are. It's a proper Lake District village, busy but not huge. The local pub is about half a mile.
You're right on the edge of the fells for walking. Langdale Pikes are about four miles away if you want a proper mountain day. Lake Windermere is a mile down the road. The beach at the lake is about nine miles.
For facilities: there's a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. We take one well-behaved dog.
Just be aware the grounds are natural and steep in places, with fast water. It's beautiful, but you need to keep an eye on children.
