Duckling Cottage
Duckling Cottage is in Bowness. It's a couple of streets back from the main waterfront shops, so it's quiet but you can walk to everything in five minutes.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own shower room. Handy if you're two couples. It's got a 4 Star rating, it's well kept.
The cottage has wooden floors and an open fireplace. The kitchen is modern. There's a small patio garden out the back.
You can walk down to Bowness Bay to feed the ducks. The pier for the Windermere Lake Cruises is a short stroll. You can get the boat to Ambleside or Lakeside from there.
We allow one well-behaved dog. There's a washing machine and dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included.
For a day out, you can drive to Grasmere in about twenty minutes. Allen Banks is around half an hour away for a woodland walk. The closest National Trust house is probably Wray Castle, which is about a fifteen minute drive.
Facilities list covers most of it: WiFi, TV, bike storage, a cot and highchair are there if you need them.
