Gone Sailing
Gone Sailing is on the edge of Windermere, a few minutes drive from both Windermere and Bowness villages. It’s a bungalow, so everything is on one level. The row of cottages faces south over the lake, so you get the sun and the view.
It sleeps three. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It’s a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean. The living space is open plan.
You can walk down a lane from the cottage that goes right to a private jetty on the lake. It’s a good spot just to be by the water. The path is leafy and a bit steep in places.
For shops, cafes, and pubs, you’ll need to go into Windermere or Bowness, which is about a mile. They have everything you’d need. The Beatrix Potter attraction is in Bowness if that’s your sort of thing.
Walking from the door is easy, you’re right in it. For a longer trip, the Lake District National Park site has walking routes. A golf course is nearby. Ambleside is about a 15 minute drive, and places like Grasmere or Hawkshead are within half an hour.
What’s here: there’s a patio and garden, parking, TV, WiFi, a cot and highchair if needed. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
