White Moss is on The Terrace in Windermere. It's one of five houses designed by Augustus Pugin. It's a big, solid house, sleeps twelve.
There are five bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a Four Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. The bedrooms are spread out. One has a four-poster bed, another has three singles, and the top floor room has four singles. Good for groups or families.
Downstairs is spacious. There's a living room with a wood burner and a big TV. The dining room is quite formal, with a large table. The kitchen has an Aga and a second range cooker. There's a utility room with an extra fridge-freezer, which is useful for a crowd. The cellar has been converted into a cinema room with proper seats.
Outside, there's a garden and parking. There's also an electric vehicle charger. You can bring dogs, up to four.
You're right in Windermere. Shops, pubs, and the lake are a short walk away. For boats and more activities, Bowness-on-Windermere is just down the road.
It's a good base for the Lakes. Ambleside is about ten minutes by car, Grasmere maybe twenty. For longer walks, the central fells are within half an hour.
