North Dean
North Dean is up at Ghyll Head, near Bowness. It's detached, takes ten people, and the main thing is the view. You get a full view of Windermere from most of the living areas and some bedrooms. There are big windows and a lot of terrace space to sit out on.
It's a five star place, which here means it's spacious and well-appointed. Five bedrooms, three bathrooms. There's an indoor heated swimming pool, which is a bonus, and a hot tub outside. You'll need to bring your own towels for the pool. There's also a games room with a pool table and table football.
The house is attached to our own annexe, which we sometimes use. You'll have complete privacy, but we might be next door if anything comes up.
For getting out, Bowness-on-Windermere is a couple of miles down the hill. That's where the main shops and places to eat are. You can get the lake steamers from there. The car ferry at Ferry Nab will take you over to the other side towards Hawkshead and Coniston.
If you're walking, the fells are straight out the door. For a more organised day out, Wray Castle is nearby and Allen Banks is about a 30 minute drive. The whole of the Lake District is within reach.
In terms of facilities, it's all there. Washing machine, dishwasher, cot and highchair, woodburning stove, parking on site. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, I'm afraid.
