Park Road Cottage
This is Park Road Cottage in Windermere. It's a terrace house, a few minutes' walk from the main street.
It sleeps four people in two double rooms. One bedroom has a shower en-suite, and there's a family bathroom too. It's got a 4 Star rating. The place is comfortable, not huge, but it works. The kitchen has an old range cooker. It looks good, but it's not the easiest thing to cook on if you're used to a modern hob. The stairs inside are fairly typical for a house like this.
Out the back is a small paved garden, with a bit of a view over the rooftops.
You can walk into Windermere in five minutes. The shops and places to eat are all there on your doorstep. Bowness-on-Windermere is about a mile down the hill. That's where you get to the lake itself for boat trips and things. Windermere Lake Cruises depart from there.
For a walk with children or a dog, Queens Park is just up the road.
The whole area is obviously for walking. For a good start on routes you can look at the Lake District National Park site. If you drive, you can be in Ambleside in about ten minutes, Grasmere in maybe twenty. Keswick is under half an hour.
Things here: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking for one car on the street outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
