Tower House

Tower House is in Ambleside. It's the front part of an old church, and the tower is attached. It's a Grade II listed building from 1812, and the area around it is quiet with some shared gardens.

The cottage sleeps five. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and clean, not luxurious. The place is over three floors, so there are a lot of stairs. They're normal stairs, but there are just more of them.

You're right in the middle of things. The local shop is about five minutes walk. The pub and a restaurant are even closer, maybe two minutes. Ambleside has plenty of places to eat and shop.

Windermere lake is at the bottom of the village. You can walk down and get on a cruise boat, or hire a rowing boat. The Armitt Museum is nearby, which has Beatrix Potter's watercolours. The famous Bridge House is just across the road from it.

For walks, you can step straight out onto the fells. The Langdale valley is a short drive away. Keswick, Grasmere, and Coniston are all within a half hour drive.

Facilities: there's a washing machine, bedding and towels are included, and there's parking for one car on the driveway. We allow one well-behaved dog.
