Church Street is a terraced cottage right in the middle of Ambleside. You're on the main street, so there's always a bit of life about. It's a terrace, right in a row, but it's quiet inside.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means everything works and it's kept clean, but don't expect a hotel. The stairs are steep, just so you know.
There's a small, walled garden out the back. It gets the sun. There's a bistro set out there if you want a coffee. The living room has an open fire, which is nice in the evenings. It's got two leather sofas.
The location is the main thing. You're about 50 yards from a pub and the co-op. The buses for around the lakes stop just up the road. You can walk from the door straight onto the fells. Loughrigg or Wansfell are right there. For a flat walk, you can go along Rothay Park and the river.
You're a ten minute walk from Waterhead, which is where the boats go from. You can get the cruise down Windermere to Bowness. For driving, Grasmere is about ten minutes, Keswick is maybe half an hour.
Facilities wise: there's a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is allowed. There's a step into the cottage, but the entrance is level once you're in, if that's a concern.
