Howe Cottage is in Bowness. It's a semi-detached cottage from the 1600s. You're looking at about a 100 yard walk down to the lake and the middle of town.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. It's a 4 Star place. That means it's comfortable and well kept. It's old though, so expect low ceilings upstairs and the stairs are a bit uneven.
The main thing is the view. From the top floor you can see Lake Windermere out of the window. It's a good spot to look out from.
You've got shops, pubs, and places to eat a minute's walk away. The boat landings for cruises are down by the water. The Beatrix Potter attraction is in Bowness too if that's your sort of thing.
For walking, you can start from the door. For the bigger fells like the Langdales or Coniston, you'll need to drive. Most of the well-known ones are within a 30 minute drive.
It's got a wood burning stove, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for one car on the drive. You can bring one dog.
