Tower View is in Ghyll Head. It's a big detached house, set back from the road. You get the garden to yourselves and there's a terraced bit with steps that go up towards the woods.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom, and a separate toilet. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, not luxurious. There's a cosy living room with a wood burner and a separate dining room. The stairs are normal.
The kitchen has a breakfast area. There's a utility room with a washing machine, and a downstairs toilet. All bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a stairgate if you need them. Parking is on site.
It's a quiet spot. There's a restaurant and spa about 350 yards down the road. The nearest proper shop, pub, and other restaurants are about four miles away in Windermere.
Bowness-on-Windermere is four miles. That's where the lake boats are, and most of the shops and cafes. Windermere town is another two miles on, and you can get the train from there if you want a day out without driving.
For walking, you're right in it. For other things, Grizedale Forest is good for mountain biking. Fell Foot Park is three miles away on the south end of the lake. The Lake District National Park site has walking routes and information. National Trust Lake District covers a lot of the local sites too.
Ambleside is about nine miles. Kendal is eleven. Hawkshead is thirteen. Coniston Water is nineteen miles. The Lakes Aquarium is five miles away, near Newby Bridge. No pets, sorry.
