April Cottage is in Staveley-in-Cartmel, which is a small hamlet near the southern end of Lake Windermere. It's a whitewashed cottage that used to be a Besom broom store.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The stairs are steep, but we've got a stairgate at the top. There's a washing machine, towels and bedding are included, and there's WiFi.
The cottage is on a quiet lane. There's a pub within walking distance, about half a mile, that does food. A shop is about the same distance. You can walk from the door up into the fells. Gummers Howe, which is a good spot for a view, is a short walk away.
Windermere and Lake Windermere are about two miles. For a bigger town, Ulverston is four miles away by car. It has proper shops, cafes, and a few pubs.
You're well placed for getting around. Ambleside, Grasmere, and Coniston are all within a twenty to thirty minute drive. The coast at Grange-over-Sands is about ten minutes away. The Lakes Aquarium and the steam railway at Lakeside are a short drive, maybe fifteen minutes.
For dog walkers, the lane is quiet and the walks from the door are good. We accept one well-behaved dog.
