Mungeon Barn is up near Backbarrow, in the South Lakes. It's part of the Otter Tarn estate, but the barn itself is detached so it's all yours. It sleeps eight over four bedrooms.
It's one of those upside-down places, so the living area is upstairs. There's a big open plan room with the kitchen, dining, and sitting area, and a wood burner in there. Downstairs there are three shower rooms. One is an en-suite to the master bedroom and it's got a big monsoon shower. There's a second sitting room downstairs too, with a TV.
Outside, there's a private courtyard with a hot tub and a barbecue. The estate has its own woodland you can walk in, and a fishing lake. They've got some Belted Galloway cattle there as well.
The local pub is about a mile and a half away. For a shop, you're looking at two miles. Newby Bridge isn't far. That's where you can get a Windermere Lake cruise or go to the Lakes Aquarium. The Haverthwaite Steam Railway is a couple of miles down the road.
Cartmel is a short drive. It's a nice village with a priory, a few good pubs, and it's famous for the racecourse and sticky toffee pudding. The coast at Morecambe Bay is about twenty minutes by car.
Inside, it's got all the stuff you'd need: washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and bedding and towels are included. It's wheelchair friendly to get in, but I'd check with the estate if you have specific needs. They do have a cot and highchair.
