Hillside Farm Cottage
Hillside Farm Cottage is in Allithwaite, Cumbria. We live next door. It’s an old farmhouse we did up a few years ago.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms. One is a kingsize, the other has two singles. There’s one bathroom, it has a bath and a separate shower. The stairs are a bit steep.
Outside, there’s an enclosed garden at the back. It’s got a lawn and some flowers. You get a view of the sea from there. There’s parking.
Inside, it’s straightforward. The kitchen has a dishwasher. The living room has a TV and WiFi. We include bedding and towels. You can bring one dog. There’s a cot and highchair if you need them.
The local pub is a few minutes’ walk away. They do food. Grange-over-Sands and Cartmel are a short drive. Cartmel has the priory and is famous for its sticky toffee pudding.
You’re close to both the coast and the Lakes. Humphrey Head beach is about two miles away. You’re right on the edge of the Lake District National Park. It’s about seven miles to the bottom of Lake Windermere.
For a day out, you can get the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway which connects to the Windermere Lake Cruises. That takes you up to Bowness and Ambleside.
