Levans Cottage

Levans Cottage is in Meathop, near Grange-over-Sands. It's about 20 minutes from Windermere. The cottage is part of a large old country house that's been split into six holiday places. It's on a small rise with trees around it, so you get the views.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The main room is open plan. The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you've got a dog. You can bring one dog.

There's a pub that does food about 400 yards down the lane. The nearest shop is in Grange, about three miles away. Grange-over-Sands is a nice little seaside town. It's got a promenade, shops, and a golf course.

You're on the edge of the southern Lakes. It's a good spot for getting to Windermere, Coniston, and all those places without being right in the middle of the crowds. Cartmel is very close, with the priory and the racecourse. For a big day out, the stately homes are worth a look: Sizergh Castle, Levens Hall, and Holker Hall are all nearby.

The cottage has parking, a washing machine, a TV, and a patio. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.

For planning walks or days out, the Lake District National Park site is useful.
