Cartmel Cottage

This is Cartmel Cottage in Meathop. It’s one of six apartments in a converted country house. The house sits on a bit of a hill, so the views from the front are good. You look south over ten acres of grounds towards the sea and the hills.

It sleeps four people in two bedrooms, with one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating. The place is clean and well looked after. You can bring one dog.

Outside, you’ve got your own patio area. There’s on-site parking. Inside, all the bedding and towels are provided. There’s a washing machine, a TV, and a cot and highchair if you need them.

The local pub is about 400 yards away and they do food. The nearest shop is in Grange-over-Sands, which is about three miles. Grange is a small seaside town with a few shops and a golf course. The coast there is about the same distance.

You’re well placed for getting around. It’s about 20 minutes by car to Windermere. Cartmel village is close by, with its priory and the racecourse. For stately homes, you’ve got Holker Hall, Sizergh Castle, and Levens Hall all within a short drive.
