The Dairy is on our smallholding in Yealand Redmayne. It's right on the Lancashire and Cumbria border. It used to be a farm dairy, so it's one of the old stone buildings.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. The bedroom's upstairs on a galleried landing. You can see the Coniston fells from the window. The stairs are open-plan and quite steep.
There's a wood burner in the living room. The floor has a glass panel in one spot, over the old well. You can see the water down there. It's just a feature, we don't use it.
From about April to September, swallows nest in the barns here. They come back every year.
You've got a private patio with a barbecue. There's parking right outside. The property has a 5 Star rating, which means everything's there and it's well finished.
You can walk straight out from the door. The Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is all around. The coast at Arnside or Silverdale is a few minutes in the car. RSPB Leighton Moss is very close for birdwatching. There's a local pub in Yealand Redmayne, and others in Silverdale and Arnside.
Within half an hour you can be in Grange-over-Sands, or Kendal for shops and a cinema. Kirkby Lonsdale is about twenty minutes. Lancaster and Morecambe are also within that drive. The Lake District boundary is about a fifteen minute drive north.
Facilities include a washing machine, towels and bedding, WiFi, and bike storage. We allow up to two dogs.
It's one of a few properties here. You can book it with The Coach House and Corner Cottage if you're a bigger group.
