Marina View
Marina View is in Tewitfield, just off the Lancaster Canal. It's part of a small development of holiday homes and sits right by the marina.
The place sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's a king-sized bedroom with an en-suite shower room at the front, and a twin room. There's a family bathroom upstairs too, and a separate toilet downstairs. It's a 3 Star rating, so it's modern, clean, and functional.
Downstairs is all open plan: kitchen, dining table, and living area. The sofa looks straight out through French doors to the terrace and the marina beyond. You can sit there and watch the narrowboats. There's a Smart TV and the WiFi is fine.
The terrace is a good spot if it's sunny. It's got proper chairs and a small table.
In terms of facilities, you've got a washing machine, dishwasher, parking right outside, and all bedding and towels are included. No pets allowed.
There's a hotel next to the marina, the Longlands, which does food and drink. For a shop, you'll need to drive about ten minutes to Carnforth, or you can walk there along the canal towpath if you fancy it. Carnforth has supermarkets, a few pubs, and takeaways. Just across the main road is Greenlands Farm Village. It's a working farm with a café, a farm shop, and some craft stalls.
The location is good for getting about. You're a half hour drive from the southern Lake District. Lancaster and Morecambe are about twenty minutes the other way. The Yorkshire Dales are also within easy reach.
