The Shippon

The Shippon is in Gressingham, just south of the River Lune. It's an old stone barn I converted. It's attached to the main farmhouse but your bit is self-contained and private. The view from the garden is good, just fields and trees.

It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. Everything's on one level so it's easy to get around. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable.

The kitchen area has a dishwasher and washing machine. There's a walk-in shower. The heating is underfloor. The doors are wide enough for a wheelchair to get through. There's a TV and WiFi, but the signal can be a bit patchy at times.

You can bring one dog. The garden is enclosed. It's mostly patio with a bit of grass.

The village is small and quiet. You can walk down to the river from here in about ten minutes. For a proper walk, the Lune Valley is nice. Or you can drive up into the Forest of Bowland easily. It's about a 40 minute drive to the Lancashire coast if you fancy that.

The nearest pub is The Golden Ball in Caton, about two miles away. They do food. For a shop you'll need to go to Hornby or Kirkby Lonsdale, both about ten minutes by car. Kirkby Lonsdale has a few more places to eat and is worth a visit.

Facilities wise, the place has everything on the list. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is right outside your door.
