Cowdber Barn is down a three-quarter mile farm track, so you'll want to arrive in daylight the first time. It's a converted stone barn, detached. You get a small garden and patio area looking out over the fields.
It sleeps up to ten people. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms so there's no big queue in the morning. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's well kept and has everything you need. The layout works because it was a barn, so the rooms are big. There's a games room upstairs with a pool table.
The track is gravel and goes through working farmland, so you'll see sheep and cows right outside. It's very quiet. You can walk straight out from the door onto the footpaths.
There's a pub about a mile away in the village that does food. The nearest shops are in Kirkby Lonsdale, about four miles. It's a nice market town with places to eat. You're right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Ingleton and its waterfalls are close, and the White Scar Cave is worth a visit.
You're about half an hour from the Lake District if you want to go that way. Morecambe and the coast is roughly sixteen miles, so under forty minutes in the car.
For facilities, you've got the wood burning stove, a BBQ, dishwasher, washing machine, wifi and TV. Bedding is included. There's parking right there. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
