Hillside House

Hillside House is in Kirkby Lonsdale. It's an end-of-terrace Victorian place, slept in by a lot of families over the years. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable and there's space for everyone.

It sleeps eight in four bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms are on the first floor, two are up another flight of stairs. The stairs are the original ones, so they're a bit steeper and narrower than modern stairs. There are two bathrooms, one has a bath with an electric shower over it, the other is just a shower room.

You come in through a decent sized hallway, good for boots and coats. The living room is at the front, with a bay window and a fireplace. There's seating for everyone. The dining room is at the back, with a big table. The kitchen leads off from there. It's got what you need.

You can bring up to two dogs. The garden is enclosed, which is useful. There's on-site parking for one, maybe two smaller cars if you park carefully.

The town centre is a two minute walk. There's a good handful of pubs, restaurants, and cafes. The Yorkshire Dales National Park starts right on the edge of town. The River Lune runs through it. Devil's Bridge and Ruskin's View are both worth a look, they're just a short walk away.

Within about half an hour's drive, you've got Ingleton and its waterfalls walk. The southern Lake District, like Windermere and Bowness, is about that too. For a day out, you could go to Lancaster or up into the Dales proper.

In terms of what's here: there's WiFi, a TV with satellite, a washing machine, a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot, a highchair, and a stairgate if you need them.
