The Snug is in Kirkby Lonsdale, right in the middle of the old part of town. It's a one-up, one-down cottage, grade II listed. It sleeps two. There's one bedroom with a king size bed and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean but it's not a show home.
The cottage is small. The stairs are steep and narrow, which is normal for these old places. There's a wood burner in the living room for when it's cold. Outside, there's a little enclosed patio area with a table and two chairs. It gets the sun in the morning.
You're about a minute's walk from the main street. All the pubs, cafes, and shops are right there. There's a Booths supermarket, which is useful. The famous Ruskin's View is a short walk away, and from there you can get down to the river walk to Devil's Bridge.
It's a good spot because you're between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. Both are about a 20 to 30 minute drive, depending on where you're heading. For walking, you can start right from the door or drive out into the proper hills.
Facilities: it's got the wood burner, WiFi, a TV, and all the bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome. There's no private parking, but there's a public car park a couple of minutes away.
