This is Apartment 14 at Hazelwood Hall in Silverdale. It's a first-floor apartment in a big old hall that's been converted. You get two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms, so it sleeps four quite comfortably. It's got a 5 Star rating, so everything is in good order and well looked after.
The living area is open plan, with doors out to a private patio. The patio has level access straight into the woods. It's a quiet spot, good for a morning coffee if the weather's alright.
The hall itself has a bit of history. It's been a private house, a nursing home, and a few other things over the years. They restored it properly in 2006. The grounds are the real point though, about 18 acres. They were originally designed by a famous Victorian gardener, Thomas Mawson. They've been restored too. You can walk through the gardens and the woodland. There's a viewing point that looks out over Morecambe Bay.
Silverdale village is under a mile's walk. There's a shop, a pub, and a restaurant there. You're in the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The coast and Leighton Moss RSPB reserve are right on the doorstep.
If you drive, you can get to a lot of places within half an hour or so. Lake Windermere and Bowness are about 45 minutes. The market towns of Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale are closer. Grange-over-Sands is along the coast.
Inside, it's got what you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Parking is on site. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. No pets, sorry.
