Apartment 14 is in Hazelwood Hall, just outside Silverdale village. It's a ground floor flat in a converted hall. It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Both bedrooms have their own shower room, which is handy.
The main room is open plan: kitchen, dining, and sitting area all together. The doors open straight out onto a private, level patio. From there, you're straight into the woodland. It's very quiet.
The hall and gardens are the main thing here. The building has been a lot of things over the years, but it's been nicely restored. The 18-acre grounds were designed by a famous landscape gardener, Thomas Mawson. They've been looked after carefully. You're free to walk around them. There's a viewing point with a good look over Morecambe Bay.
You're in the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has a shop, a pub, and a restaurant, about a mile's walk. The coast is about the same distance. Leighton Moss RSPB reserve is very close if you like birdwatching.
For a day out, the Lake District is easy to get to. Lake Windermere and Bowness are about 45 minutes by car. Kendal, Kirkby Lonsdale, and Grange-over-Sands are all closer, within half an hour.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. No pets, I'm afraid.
