Underhill Cottage
Underhill Cottage is in Arnside, right in the village. It sleeps five, with three bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean. Nothing flash.
The layout is a bit unusual. The main living room and kitchen are on the ground floor. Then the conservatory is upstairs, off the bedrooms. It gets the evening sun.
You can walk everywhere from here. The train station, the shops, and a few pubs are all about a hundred yards away. The promenade and the beach are just there. It's good if you want to leave the car.
The garden is enclosed. There's parking on site. It says wheelchair accessible entrance, but there is a step up into the house itself, so do get in touch if you need specific details. We can take up to two dogs.
For walking, you're in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The train is handy. One stop gets you to Grange-over-Sands, which is a nice old seaside town. A few more stops and you're in Cartmel, for the racecourse and the sticky toffee pudding.
By car, you can be in Windermere and Bowness in about half an hour. The Yorkshire Dales are about the same, with the Ingleton waterfalls. The Lake District National Park authority site is good for planning.
