Cartmel Place
Cartmel Place looks out over the village square. It’s a duplex apartment, so you come in on the first floor and go up an internal staircase to the main living area.
It sleeps six in three bedrooms. They’ve all got super king beds, but two of them can be split into twins if you need. There are two bathrooms, one with a tub and one with a walk-in shower.
It’s a new build, finished in 2023. It has a 4 Star rating. It’s well equipped and comfortable. The living room has a wood burner and those big Georgian windows facing the square.
You’re right in the middle of Cartmel. The front door opens onto the square. The village shops, the pub, and the restaurants are all a few steps away. It’s a medieval village, so the streets are narrow and the buildings are old. The Cartmel Priory is worth a look.
The racecourse is on the edge of the village. You can walk through the woods there.
Grange-over-Sands is a couple of miles away, on the coast. It’s got a level promenade if you fancy a flat stroll. The southern end of Lake Windermere is about a 15 minute drive, so you can be in Bowness or Ambleside in under half an hour.
For local walking information, the Lake District National Park site is useful.
Facilities: it has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. No pets. There’s parking for one car on site.
