Dolphin Cottage is in Grange over Sands. It's a one bedroom place for two people. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and clean.
The main thing about it is the view. You can see the sea from the cottage. It's right in the town, so you can walk to everything, but you still get that outlook.
You can bring one dog. There's parking on site. Everything is on one level and the entrance has no steps, which is useful for some.
Grange itself is a proper old-fashioned seaside town. There are tea rooms and family-run shops. The promenade is good for a flat walk, or you can head up the hill behind for a view. The beach is about 160 yards away, but it's more sands and mudflats than a swimming beach.
The pub is just over 100 yards away. It does food. The shop is about the same distance in the other direction.
Cartmel village is about ten minutes by car. It's very pretty, with a famous racecourse and that sticky toffee pudding is from there. The Michelin-starred restaurant L'Enclume is there if you're planning a special meal.
You're on the edge of the Lake District. It's about a 25 minute drive to Windermere or the start of the southern lakes. Morecambe Bay is on your doorstep for walks. The local golf course is just up the road.
Facilities wise: it's got wifi, TV, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included.
If you're planning trips, the Lake District National Park website is useful. For the local area, Visit Cumbria has good information.
