The Bothy is in Yealand Redmayne. It's a detached cottage, just the one building. We converted it from an old bull shed a few years ago. It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. Both bathrooms are wet rooms.
One bedroom is on the ground floor. The other is upstairs. The stairs are a typical cottage ladder staircase, so they're a bit steeper than normal. Watch your head on the beam at the top.
The kitchen leads out to a small patio with a table. You get a good view of the fields from there. It's very quiet.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well equipped. There's a dishwasher, Wi-Fi, and parking right outside. The whole place is wheelchair friendly, and you can bring one well-behaved dog.
The local pub, The Wheatsheaf, is about a twenty minute walk. They do food. For a shop, you'll need to drive to Carnforth, which is about four miles.
You're in a good spot here. The coast at Silverdale is ten minutes by car. The Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is right on your doorstep for walking. Lake District National Park is about twenty minutes drive to the north. You can be in the Yorkshire Dales in half an hour too, if you head east.
