Kiln Green Farmhouse is in Ackenthwaite, near Milnthorpe. It's on the edge of the Lake District, not right in the middle. That means it's quiet, but you can get to the busier bits easily enough.
It's an old farmhouse that's been done up. It's got beams. It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean without being overly fancy.
The farmhouse sits in 33 acres of its own land, mostly riverside fields. You can walk along the river Bela. There's free fly fishing if you have a licence. The river is shallow in places, so kids can paddle.
Milnthorpe is about a mile away. It's a small town with shops, a couple of pubs, and places to eat. All the basics.
For the Lakes, Lake Windermere is about ten miles. That's where you go for the boats and the waterfront. If you head the other way, you can be in the Yorkshire Dales in twenty minutes or so. Kendal is about a fifteen minute drive.
Inside, there's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. We've put in a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. All the bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. Sorry, no pets.
