This is Cragg Cottage. It's in Bouth, a small village near the bottom end of Lake Windermere. It's one of a pair, so it's semi-detached.
It's just for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. The bathroom is ensuite. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well kept.
The main thing is the garden. It's enclosed, which is good if you bring a dog. There's a patio bit with furniture and a BBQ. The garden looks out over fields. It's peaceful.
Inside, it's a proper old cottage with low beams. Mind your head. There's a woodburning stove for colder nights, a TV, wifi, and a washing machine. All the bedding and towels are included.
The village has a really good pub, about a five-minute walk. The nearest shop is two miles away in Greenodd.
Windermere lake is about ten minutes drive. For a bigger town, Ulverston is about fifteen minutes to the west. It's got cobbled streets and a market. Bowness and Ambleside are maybe twenty-five minutes north, depending on traffic.
From here you can get into the southern Lakes pretty easily. Coniston is about twenty minutes. The Furness Fells are close by for walking. Further north, places like Grasmere are probably forty-five minutes.
You can bring one well-behaved dog. There's parking right outside the cottage.
