Ransome Lodge
Ransome Lodge is on Crake Valley Holiday Park in Water Yeat. It's a lodge, not a cottage, so it's more of a modern build.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star grading which is good. Everything works and it's clean and comfortable.
The main thing is the position. You're near Coniston Water but a little way back from the shore. The decking has sheltered views through the trees towards the Coniston fells. It's quiet.
You need to know the parking is on a slope. The gravel path up to the front door is also quite steep for the first bit. It's fine if you're steady on your feet but worth mentioning.
Coniston village is about five miles. Ambleside and Windermere are roughly twenty minutes by car. If you fancy a drive, the west coast with places like Ravenglass is about forty minutes. Hardknott Pass is an option but it's a serious mountain road, so check your map.
There's a shop and a pub about three miles away in Lowick.
The place is all on one level inside. It's open plan with the kitchen and living area together. You've got a dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and all the bedding and towels are provided. The decking area has some furniture.
