Ransome Lodge is on the Crake Valley Holiday Park near Water Yeat. It's about three miles down a back lane from the main road. Think Cumbria, not central Lakeland. It's quiet.
The lodge sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. Everything is on one level, which is handy.
The deck looks out over trees towards the Coniston fells. You can't see the water from here, but Coniston Water is a five minute drive away. The parking and path up to the front door are on a bit of a slope. It's fine, but you should know.
Inside, it's open plan. There's a TV, wifi, and a dishwasher. All the bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside.
The pub and the nearest shop are about three miles away in Lowick. They're fine. Coniston village is about ten minutes by car. Ambleside and Windermere are maybe twenty-five minutes. If you drive over the Hardknott Pass you get to the west coast and places like Wast Water. The roads are narrow.
