It's Coniston Cottage. It's in the village of Coniston. You can see the lake from the front, the water.
It sleeps four, two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a four star rating, so it's pretty well sorted inside. Everything's downstairs, the kitchen, living room, and a table. Upstairs are the bedrooms. The stairs are normal.
There's a small paved area out the back. Good for a coffee in the morning. Parking for two cars at the front.
You can walk into the village. There's a shop and places to eat about a ten minute walk. The nearest pub is five minutes.
If you're walking, you can get straight onto the fells from the door. The Old Man of Coniston is right there. For cycling, Grizedale Forest is close. The lake is a short walk down the hill. You can hire boats or just walk around it.
Hawkshead and Ambleside are a short drive. The ferry over to Windermere is near Hawkshead, if you want to go across without driving all the way around.
It’s got the usual things. Washing machine, dishwasher, towels, Wi-Fi. You can bring up to two dogs.
For planning walks or days out, the Lake District National Park site is useful. Also the National Trust for some of the local places.
