The Station Master's House used to be part of Torver's railway station. So it's a solid old building. It's on its own in a hamlet, really quiet.
It sleeps five. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. One bedroom has a double bed, the other has a double and a single. They look out over the garden. The rating is 4 Star. It's a good, comfortable standard.
The garden is partly on the old station platform. There's a raised lawned terrace. It's a nice spot. The garden is enclosed.
There's a pub about a hundred yards away that does food. The nearest shop is in Coniston, a couple of miles away.
You're close to Coniston Water. The fells are right there. Coniston Old Man is a straightforward walk from the door if you're up for it. Hawkshead village is a short drive. For walks or cycling, Grizedale Forest is about twenty minutes by car.
The facilities are what you'd need. Washing machine, dishwasher, Wi-Fi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
